All that griping about how models’ slender proportions are completely unrealistic? Turns out they are literally unrealistic — as in, they are totally fake.
"Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have."
-Margaret Mead
I’m a college student who is trying to deal with all the negativity and criticism I see in people all around me. People hate themselves, exclude others, and critique everyone. Even things that are for everyone, like the Internet and tv, can make us feel excluded and get caught up in comparing and universalizing. I want my blog to be a source of inspiration and inclusion, and I hope I can make my followers think and smile. Even though I (sadly) can’t stop girls from becoming anorexic, and I can’t stop magazines from using women as sex objects in advertising, I think seeing things from a new perspective can help us remember that we are all unique and beautiful, and for now that’s all that matters.
Learning to define ourselves instead of letting society and the media do it for us us the most important thing we can do to make ourselves happy.
Please let me know if you like my blog, hate it, or just don’t get it. I would love to hear from my followers because this blog is for you. Tell me what makes you happy, what makes you sad, and especially what pisses you off in the world. Last but not least, don’t forget to love yourself and be open to everyone who comes your way.
